From Burnout to Baby: What a Fertility Therapist Can Do for You

When you set out to grow your family, you likely imagined a journey filled with excitement and hope. But for 1 in 5 women, trying to conceive (TTC) can become a chapter marked by disappointment, heartbreak, and exhaustion. Whether it’s unexplained infertility, a medical diagnosis, pregnancy loss, or the emotional rollercoaster of IVF, the weight of it all can be overwhelming — physically, emotionally, and mentally.

And while there may be no shortage of advice or medical appointments, what’s often missing is professional emotional and therapeutic support by someone who truly gets it.

This is where a Fertility Therapist with personal experience comes in.

So, what is a Fertility Therapist?

A Fertility Therapist (also referred to as a Fertility Coach or Doula depending on professional training) is a non-medical professional who specialises in supporting women navigating the emotional and psychological toll of infertility and conception challenges.

My work weaves together evidence-based therapies with a deeply intuitive, compassionate approach. Using a blend of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, somatic techniques, and mind-body tools, I help clients gently release emotional burnout, reframe unhelpful beliefs, and return to a more grounded, regulated state — mentally, emotionally, and physiologically.

I like to think of this work as tending to the soil before planting the seed.

Why Have a Fertility Therapist on Your Team?

Here are some of the key ways a Fertility Therapist can support you:

1. Emotional Support That Actually Helps

Well-meaning friends and family might say things like, “Just relax” or “Take a holiday and it’ll happen” — but often those comments feel more isolating than supportive. When you're TTC, you don’t need clichés — you need strategies.

A Fertility Therapist provides a space where you can safely share your fears, grief, anger, and hopes without judgment. You're not alone here — you're seen, heard, and held.

2. Guidance Through the Maze

Trying to conceive can feel like navigating a labyrinth of medical jargon, specialist appointments, and decisions you never thought you'd need to make.

As your therapist, I can help you understand your cycle, explore natural fertility enhancement, clarify medical options, and prepare emotionally for steps like IVF or IUI. More importantly, I can help you reconnect with your own inner wisdom when you’re unsure which path to take.

3. Mind-Body Techniques to Ease Stress and Rebuild Trust

The fertility journey can disrupt your nervous system’s sense of safety. And when stress becomes chronic, it can interfere with everything — your mood, hormones, libido, sleep, digestion, relationships... even your sense of self.

Therapies like hypnotherapy, breath work, somatic grounding, and emotional processing are designed to calm the stress response and restore internal balance — which research has shown can significantly improve conception outcomes.

In fact, studies have found that women who receive emotional and mind-body support have conception rates up to 55% higher than those who don’t. Hypnosis used alongside IVF has even been shown to more than double success rates.

4. Support for Your Relationship

This journey can put strain on even the strongest relationships. I work with individuals and couples to gently unpack unspoken fears, improve communication, and support both partners in feeling understood and supported.

Because when you’re TTC, it’s not just about making a baby — it’s also about preserving the love, connection, and intimacy that brought you here.

5. Early Pregnancy, Miscarriage & Beyond

Therapy doesn’t end with a positive pregnancy test. Many of my clients continue sessions through early pregnancy, especially after loss or IVF, as anxiety and trauma can remain in the body.

Whether you’re navigating morning sickness, fear of miscarriage, or complications, I’ll continue to walk beside you — offering emotional support, nervous system regulation, and a place to land during the fragile early stages of new life.

How Do You Know If It’s Right for You?

I offer a free Discovery Call so you can ask questions and see if my approach feels like the right fit. Some clients come to me at the very beginning of their fertility journey. Others come after years of trying and multiple losses. There is no wrong time to seek support.

Whether you’re navigating natural conception, preparing for IVF, or healing from miscarriage, you don’t have to do this alone.

Ready to Feel a Little More Held on This Journey?

If you're longing for deeper emotional support, grounded guidance, and a more peaceful connection to your body and fertility, I'd love to support you.

Let’s work together to quiet the noise, calm the nervous system, and bring you back home to hope, peace and trust.
